FDCA was formed as an incorporated association in 1988 under the name of the National Family Day Care Council of Australia Inc.

As we grew our business portfolio we needed to change our structure to that of a company limited by guarantee – so in 2000 we became the National Family Day Care Council of Australia Limited.

In 2006 we needed a contemporary new feel for the organisation and its logo – to give them both a modern and dynamic look that better represented the future. The 5th National Family Day Care Conference, held in Alice Springs in May 2006, provided the perfect opportunity to launch the new name and logo [and mission] for family day care’s national peak body.

The new logo closely links the organisation to the family day care program logo by using the same ‘red star house’ image and font. The strap line ‘leading the way in childcare’ is our roadmap for the organisation’s future.
