Family Day Care Australia’s triennial national conference will attract individuals from the family day care and broader child care communities. The conference will be held on 20-23 May 2009 at the Hotel Grand Chancellor in Hobart, Tasmania.
The program will cover hands-on aspects of child care as well as current research and forward thinking approaches to early learning.The conference will have three streams - our business, our everyday and our future.
Our business:
Family day care coordination unit staff and carers are working in an increasingly competitive market. This conference stream will focus our attention upon our business practices. How do we attract and maintain business relationships? What is the latest HR and leadership practice? Does your bookwork need a makeover? What new technologies are available? How do we access grants and raise sponsorships?
Our everyday:
This stream will be a kaleidoscope of sessions that will inspire participants to explore, create and debate the many aspects of day to day practice with children. Creativity, emotional well-being, nurturing strong relationships - giving children the very best start in life - from hands-on sessions to round table discussions - participants will be challenged and enthused! Early childhood is a time to explore, to be excited and to learn. This stream is for all who want to recapture the joy of childhood and to gain new skills for everyday practice.
Our future:
The future is ours. This stream is for exploring new theory and challenging long-held beliefs. It is also about planning ways forward personally, in our work practice and within our world. What impact are we making upon our environment; what are we teaching our children? Participants will have the opportunity to discuss alternative ways of practice, and network with other professionals who can inspire us to move forward.
Fantastic social events include a welcome function, spectacular conference dinner and a morning at Hobart’s famous Salamanca Markets. Bring your family and have a holiday around the conference!
